Tissue for the TRAM is taken from the lower abdomen - like a tummy tuck.Severe radiation scarring in the armpit restricted the patient’s arm and shoulder movements. The scar was removed and the shoulder released surgically followed by a Latissimus dorsi flap to reconstruct the axilla.
